Spain Squad World Cup Kikosi Cha Hispania 2022

Spain Squad World Cup Kikosi Cha Hispania 2022 Who has Spain boss Luis Enrique picked for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar? Spain are set to enter their 12th consecutive World Cup with the hopes of achieving glory for the first time since 2010.

They have not been dealt an easy group, though, as they will have to overcome 2014 world champions Germany, as well as Asian giants Japan and Bryan Ruiz’s Costa Rica.

GOALKEEPERS

Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon is likely to be Luis Enrique’s first-choice goalkeeper for Spain at the World Cup.

He is fending off competition from Robert Sanchez and David Raya to remain Spain’s No.1.

Manchester United’s David De Gea is among those to have been left out of the 26-man squad.

    DEFENDERS

One of the biggest questions facing Luis Enrique when it came to the Spanish defence was whether Paris Saint-Germain centre-half Sergio Ramos should be part of the final squad. He has returned to form in the current campaign, after enduring injury issues last season, but has not done enough to earn a place on the plane.

Cesar Azpilicueta, Dani Carvajal, Jordi Alba and Aymeric Laporte are all part of the 26-man party, with Spain boasting plenty of options at the back.

Eric Garcia has proven to be a reliable option, while the same can be said of Pau Torres and Jose Gaya.

    MIDFIELDERS

Spain boss Enrique has had to leave quite a few big names at home as he faces a difficult selection dilemma when comes to his midfield at the World Cup.

There are places for Sergio Busquets, Rodri, Pedri, Koke and Gavi.

There are also spots for Carlos Soler and Marcos Llorente, but Liverpool star Thiago Alcantara is among those to miss out.

    ATTACKERS

Pablo Sarabia, Alvaro Morata and Ferran Torres could be Spain’s designated front three in Qatar, but there’s much more to Spain’s frontline than that trio.

There will of course be Marcos Asensio and Ansu Fati waiting to pounce if they get a chance, while youngsters such as Yeremy Pino and Nico Williams will be dreaming of seeing game time as well.

  • STRONGEST XI

Simon is set to continue as the first-choice keeper behind a back-four of Alba, Garcia, Laporte and Carvajal.

Busquets will form the base of the midfield and could get assistance from Koke and Pedri.

Sarabia, Torres and Morata could form the front three in the attacking third.

  • NOTABLE ABSENTEES

David De Gea might continue to be the No.1 choice at Manchester United, but there is no room for him in the Spain squad under Luis Enrique for tactical reasons.

Sergio Ramos had hoped to make the cut after proving his worth at PSG, but the veteran defender – who savoured global glory back in 2010 – will be watching on from afar.

That is also the case for Marcos Alonso and Thiago Alcantara, with Enrique putting his faith in youth.
