However, the information of the website of ‘Trending Economics’ shows that until November 2022, the price of crude oil per barrel was sold at 88.56 US Dollars equal to Sh203,688, having increased by Sh1,518 compared to the October price.

The price of crude oil has been decreasing from 103.6 dollars (average of Sh238,280) in July to 94.9 dollars (average of Sh218,270), 90.4 dollars (average of Sh207,920) in September and 87.9 in October (average of Sh202,170 ).

According to the Energy and Water Services Regulatory Authority (Ewura), the Government has continued to subsidize these products with the aim of reducing the severity of prices. The government provided a subsidy of Sh59.58 billion for October 2022 oil prices, which is a smaller amount compared to the Sh65 billion provided in September, while this month it did not mention the amount of the subsidy provided. According to the information of Ewura, Tanga Region, the price of petrol has dropped from Sh2, 924 in October to Sh2, 806 this month while diesel has decreased by Sh34 to Sh3, 074, in Mtwara the price of petrol has risen from Sh2, 908 in October to Sh2 , 917 this month.
